従来の風鈴は江戸時代に普及したものであり、主に軒下に吊すように考えられています。しかし、現代の居住空間に軒下のような空間は珍しくなっており、風鈴の居場所がなくなっているように感じました。そこで卓上における風鈴の形を模索することで、音のある暮らしを提案しようと考えました。最終的に、富山に広がる田んぼの風景から、重力に従って首を垂れる稲穂の姿が自然に従順でやさしいと思い、風になびく稲穂をイメージした風鈴が出来上がりました。


Traditional wind chimes were popular in the Edo era(1603～1867) and were mainly hung under eaves. However, such spaces under eaves are becoming unusual in modern living spaces. Therefore, we explored the form of the wind chime on a tabletop. In the process, I thought that the figure of an ear of rice hanging down following gravity would be naturally obedient and peaceful, so I came up with a wind chime with the image of an ear of rice fluttering in the wind.
